Boyer Capstone Veterinary Care

Wonderful Vet, very caring and friendly. Always explains everything. Highly recommend! They take excellent care of our Cairn & Boxador.

Always friendly affordable and very respectful highly educated staff

I really wanted to give Capstone Veterinary a fair chance, but after two visits, I’ve decided I won’t be returning. When I initially scheduled our appointments, I provided all of the information for both of my dogs, including their ages, what they needed, and the reason for the visits. However, when I arrived for our first visit, the front desk seemed unsure of why we were there. During that first visit, everything was initially entered under ONE dog, and I was presented with an estimated bill of over $800. I had to explain, while pointing out that I clearly had two dogs sitting there with me, that these were two separate dogs receiving care and that everything should not have been placed under one dog. The staff then had to go back and have the charges corrected. I tried to be understanding and assumed maybe it was simply an off day. During that same visit, I was specifically told by a staff member that the next visit would be it for my puppy’s shots and a booster for my other dog. At our second visit, unfortunately, the same communication issues happened again. The front desk didn’t know what we were there for, and I explained that we were there for the next set of shots that had already been planned. Even the staff member who came to get the dogs was asking me which vaccinations they were supposed to be receiving. I honestly didn’t know because I was relying on the clinic to have the vaccination schedule and records documented. I shouldn’t have to determine which vaccines are due when I’m bringing my dogs back for an appointment that the clinic itself scheduled. Then, despite being specifically told during our first visit that this second visit would be my puppy’s final set of shots since he was already vaccinated once, they began trying to schedule additional appointments for more vaccinations that had never previously been discussed with me. That only added to my concern about the lack of communication and consistency. I completely understand that mistakes happen, which is why I gave the clinic another chance after the first visit. But experiencing the same confusion and lack of organization at both visits left me without confidence in their communication or record keeping. Veterinary care requires trust, especially when you’re handing over animals you love and relying on the clinic to maintain accurate records and know what care is due. Unfortunately, after two visits, I no longer have that confidence here. I let the staff know that this would be our last visit.

I have used Capstone for years. They are wonderful with my dogs and the staff is great.
